These 5-ingredient Keto Sausage Balls are perfect for keto meal prep! Enjoy for breakfast, lunch, or as a snack!
Are you missing classic Bisquick sausage balls now that you’re following a keto diet? I’ve got a really great low-carb replacement for you!
These easy 5-ingredient keto sausage balls are perfect for keto meal prep, and they make an easy grab-and-go breakfast or appetizer! These sausage balls are just 0.8 net carbs per ball and couldn’t be easier to make!
If you are familiar with my site you know I have another recipe for Almond Flour Keto Sausage Balls. That recipe differs because the sausage is cooked and drained before adding the other ingredients.
This recipe uses uncooked sausage just like the traditional Bisquick Sausage Balls.
Ingredients in 5-Ingredient Sausage Balls
I know what you’re thinking, “A recipe for sausage balls without Bisquick?!” Just trust me, these cream cheese sausage balls taste just like the original, minus the carbs!
For this naturally gluten-free sausage ball recipe, you’ll need:
- Breakfast sausage
- Cream cheese
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Baking powder
- Almond flour
Can the Almond Flour Be Substituted?
Possibly, but I’ve tested this recipe the most using almond flour so that’s what I recommend using.
How to Make Keto Sausage Balls
This is a very easy sausage balls recipe. Here’s a look at how it’s made:
- Combine all of the ingredients until well incorporated.
- Lightly spray a large baking sheet or line with silicone baking sheets
- Roll the sausage balls into golf ball-sizes balls.
- Bake at 375ºF until done.
How Long to Cook Sausage Balls?
These low-carb sausage balls need to cook for roughly 20 to 24 minutes at 375ºF.
Can This Recipe Be Prepared in Advance?
Yes, you can mix together the sausage mixture, form the balls, and seal them in an airtight container until you’re ready to bake them off.
Or, you can prepare the entire recipe as written and either refrigerate or freeze the sausage balls until ready to eat.
Tips for Making Low-Carb Sausage Balls
- This recipe is easy to customize a bit based on your preferences. You can use spicy sausage to add a kick or switch up the cheese for another flavor combination. My personal favorite is spicy sausage and sharp cheddar cheese.
- Sausage balls freeze very well. When ready to eat, reheat for 20-second intervals in the microwave.
- Sausage balls can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature. If serving these as an appetizer, store them in a Crockpot set to “Warm” or “Low” to keep warm.
