This easy One Pan Keto Green Chili Chicken is the ultimate cheesy low carb casserole! At under 4 net carbs per serving this will be a weekly staple on your keto diet!

I’ve been playing around with new flavor combinations to create an assortment of ultra low carb keto dinners than can be made in one pan and in under 30 minutes. This One Pan Keto Green Chili Chicken fits the bill perfectly!
If you’re not big on casserole or would just like to try this awesome flavor in a different way, try this Keto Green Chili Stuffed Chicken! It looks super impressive but is still easy enough for an easy weeknight meal!

- Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- Shredded Chicken
How do you make One Pan Green Chili Chicken?
This recipe is a very simple one pan meal that is great for busy nights! Begin by heating a 12 inch skillet over medium heat.
Add butter, minced garlic, chopped jalapeño and sauté for 30 seconds. Add almond milk, heavy cream, cream cheese, canned chilies, spices and cheddar cheese. Next, whisk the mixture until the cheese has melted a nice rich cheese sauce has formed.
Stir in cooked shredded chicken until it is evenly covered with the cheese sauce. Top with more shredded cheese and place a lid on the skillet. Reduce the heat to low and allow the mixture to simmer 10 minutes or until the cheese has completely melted.
What can I serve with Green Chili Chicken?
There are many great side dish options! Serve with a salad filled with cheddar, bacon, ranch and avocado for a refreshing side (maybe try this one with asparagus).
Cauliflower rice is a keto friendly option, as well as my favorite Crispy Zucchini Fries. These Bacon-Wrapped Green Beans would be a great pairing as well!
If you’re looking for a good low-carb bread option, try these Keto Bacon Cheddar Chive Biscuits, this keto twist on the Red Lobster copycat biscuits, or these Rosemary Garlic Keto Dinner Rolls!
Alternatively, there are many low carb wraps on the market that contain 3-5 net carbs each (or you could make these Zucchini Tortillas that only have about one net carb each!). This Green Chili Chicken would make the perfect burrito or quesadilla filling!
What are some other one pan keto recipes?

- Mushroom Swiss Chicken
- Keto Chili

This recipe is great for leftovers because it reheats so well. Refrigerate any leftovers in an air-tight container up to five days. To reheat, microwave in 30-second intervals until warmed throughout.
Is this good for meal prepping?
Yes, this Keto Green Chili Chicken would be a great option for meal prep! Instead of making this ahead of time and freezing, it’s best to prepare this in steps so that it comes together even quicker when you’re ready to eat.
On meal prep day, cook and shred your chicken and set it aside for this casserole. You could also make the cream sauce and refrigerate up to seven days prior to eating. If these two components are already make, this recipe can be ready to eat in about 15 minutes!

Could you use regular milk instead of Almond?
amayoza says
Hi Melanie, yes you absolutely can. If you are on keto or watching your carbs regular milk just increases the carb content that is the only reason I used almondmilk. I hope you enjoy!
Brooke says
This looks great!! Seems super quick if the chicken is already cooked. I try to cook meet in large batches and freeze. That would make this a great last minute option
Heidi Romines says
Is it possible to use some else instead of almond milk?

Tosh says
I used chicken broth when I realized I didn’t have almond milk! I didn’t wanna go back to the store lol
Amaya says
Hi! I’m on keto but we can’t have almond milk due to allergies in the house, is there another keto friendly alternative?
amayoza says
Hi Amaya, the milk substitutes for keto that I am aware of are almond, coconut and hemp (all unsweetened) I haven’t tried it but I suspect you could use chicken broth in place of milk in this particular recipe and maybe just a smidge more heavy cream and it would still create a very flavorful creamy sauce that would work. I hope that helps! 🙂
Gina Hubbard says
4-5 Cups of chicken comes to approximately how much in weight? Measurements can be so subjective and I want to calculate the right macros. But this looks seriously amazing and can’t wait to try it!
amayoza says
I do not use a kitchen scale so I cannot say for certain but according to information I found online 1 cup of shredded chicken weighs approximately 5 1/4 ounces.

Are the green chiles spicy hot? or are they just added for flavor? I don’t like anything spicy hot, that’s why I ask 🙂
Annie says
You can purchase hot or mild green chilies, if you do not like spice I would use the mild. I don’t find the mild to be spicy at all.
