These Asian Chicken Fritters turn simple ground chicken into tender, flavorful fritters with crispy golden edges.

Ground chicken can be an incredibly useful meal prep ingredient, but it needs to have the right combination of seasoning and texture to keep it from tasting bland or dry. These Asian chicken fritters solve that with bold flavors from ginger, garlic, and sesame, all packed into a tender golden fritter. The recipe is straightforward enough for a weeknight but practical enough to make ahead. They’re also naturally low carb, and keto friendly.

Reasons to Love
- Big Flavor: Soy (or coconut aminos), sesame, ginger and garlic give plain ground chicken a big upgrade.
- Meal Prep Friendly: Make a batch ahead and have an easy protein ready for lunches or quick dinners.
- Budget friendly: Ground chicken is one of the most affordable proteins on the market.
What You’ll Need
- Ground Chicken: ground turkey also works if you prefer.
- Coconut Flour and Egg: acts as a binder, but keeps it low carb and gluten free.
- Red Pepper: adds a nice hint of sweetness, along with great texture for the fritters.
- Green Onions: these go in the fritters, but I also like to add extra for garnish at the end.
- Sweet Chili Sauce: if keto use a sugar free option like this one.
- Soy Sauce: or coconut aminos
- Garlic and Ginger: freshly minced

How to Make Chicken Patties
- Combine the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
- Scoop out the mixture using a 1/4 cup measuring cup and pat out the fritters, pat them thinner than you think they should be because they shrink and puff up a bit as they cook.
- Cook in a large skillet with oil over medium heat for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
Storage and Reheating
- Refrigerate: Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
- Freeze: Freeze in a single layer, then transfer to a freezer safe container up to 3 months.
- Reheat: Microwave until warmed through, or in an air fryer at 350 degrees for 2-3 minutes until warmed through.

Tips and Tricks
- Don’t overwork the ingredients. Ground chicken can be dry, so combine the ingredients just enough that everything is evenly distributed to prevent from having dense fritters.
- Keep them evenly sized so they have the same cooking time.
- Give them space in the pan, overcrowding traps steam resulting in soggy fritters.
- Check the center using a meat thermometer, they are safe when they have reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.

Asian Chicken Fritters
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 tablespoon coconut flour
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup sugar free sweet chili sauce
- ¼ cup chopped green onions
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce , or coconut aminos
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- ½ tablespoon freshly minced ginger
- any neutral oil for frying
Instructions
- Combine the ground chicken, coconut flour, egg, sweet chili sauce, green onions, soy sauce, ginger and garlic.
- Using a small ice cream scoop or a 1/4 cup measuring cup, pat out the chicken fritters. Pat them out slightly thinner than you think you should. They will puff a bit as they cook.
- Heat any neutral oil in a large skillet over medium heat. When the oil begins to shimmer, carefully add the fritters to the skillet. The fritters shouldn't be touching. Be sure to avoid overcrowding the pan. Cook the fritters for 3-4 minutes on each side until the exterior is golden brown and the interior reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees with an instant-read thermometer.
- Once the fritters are cooked through, remove them from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any extra oil.
- Serve immediately. Dipping sauce recipes listed below.
